As of July 1, 2024, temporary renting has become more challenging, but options are still available.
You are eligible for a fixed-term rental contract if you:
- Are a student renting temporarily for studies in a municipality other than your place of residence;
- Are temporarily living elsewhere due to work or home renovation;
- Are getting divorced, no longer living with your partner, and need a temporary rental to live close to your child(ren).
Additionally, we can provide a rental contract that is 'by its nature short-term' for:
- Individuals who need to vacate their homes due to fire or water damage temporarily;
- Individuals who are in transition between two homes;
- foreign companies that need to accommodate their staff in the Netherlands for a temporary project;
- tourists (including those using Airbnb).
You can also temporarily rent from owners of holiday homes or "aparthotels."
